Welcome to....

that frozen wasteland called Siberia (description courtesy of Fiddler on the Roof)

So, back in the day at school, our heater was broken. And we named our apartment Alaska. Then we had the wonderful adventure in the Sahara when our air conditioner failed to work. Don't worry, this time it isn't' that the heater isn't' working, its just that we have currently turned it off for the summer. Which obviously isn't here yet. Either way, I am inside my house and yet, I am COLD! Obviously I couldn't' say I'm in Alaska again, since my house is not Penrose 87, and Siberia was the next cold place that came to my mind, for some reason.

Of course, it really is a result of Utah weather deciding to finally give us a taste of Spring after pretending to give us an early summer. I suppose by now, I should be used to it, but I don't' like to be cold.

Here are some pictures of me trying to keep warm, INSIDE the house on May 22.

The hoodie, blanket, and hot chocolate have helped a bit, so I think I'll survive my visit to Siberia

Yay for Cook!

Well, I survived my first season of being addicted to American Idol. The addiction I totally blame on my roommates. Specifically Sara, and partly Kaitlin. Oh well. It's fun to have the memories of watching it with them.

So, you probably all know this by now, but David Cook won it. Right before they announced the winner, Simon said he didn't' care who won. And that is how I felt. Both David's were amazing! And both are deserving of the title.

Then came the aftermath. Just a reminder to you all, I am a proud resident of Utah, which is also the home state of one David Archuleta. They had a big party at the ESA(Energy Solutions Arena a.k.a. the old Delta Center) and all these crazy Archuleta fans went there to watch the show. So, after Idol they were showing that on the news, and there were people CRYING that David A. did not win! How pathetic. At this point I decided that the majority of Utahns were way to think that Archuleta just had it in the bad. That is when I decided I was a fan of Cook. I know, sounds pathetic since he already won, but I didn't choose sides because he won, I chose sides because Utah fans were acting so dumb.

I Dream Of...?

So, last night I had a lot of weird random crazy dreams. Most of them made no sense in the real world, so they turned into being a movie I was watching at a movie theater in another dream. So, in this dream, I'm sitting by a guy. And you know how in dreams you just know things, well I just knew that this guy and I were really good friends(just friends, nothing more), and had been for a while. Then, somehow, we got on the topic of holding hands. He told me there was somebody whose hand he wanted to hold, so I wanted to know who it was. (By this point in the dream, I somehow know that I like this friend of mine) So I asked him, because that's how good of friends we were. So he tells me, "Look in front of us a row, and than back a row from that, and she is sitting a certain amount of seats from the left side(I don't' remember how many seats it was.) So, I counted, and it was me! And, I wanted to hold his hand too! So, I look at him and smile, and than we are holding hands, under a blanket which is suddenly on my lap in this movie theater. So than there was another moment of the just knowing in dreams, and I just know that we both really like each other and have been waiting for this for a long time, and the emotional level between us is like we've been dating for a while. He asks me if I want anything to eat and I say no, I'm good. In a really cute exchange of words (I know, how is that conversation cute, but it was)
So, that was the dream, and sure I find it entertaining that I had this dream, but since I am a hopeless romantic, I've had the type before. The most hilarious part was who the guy in the dream was. Not even kidding, it was David Archuleta!(of American Idol fame) But, he was my age, and we had always been really good friends, and he had never been on Idol, he was just a normal everyday guy who was my really good friend.
So, I thought I would share that highly entertaining dream with you, I know I woke up laughing this morning when I remembered it.

On the Hunt

So, I'm supposed to be on the hunt right now, for a job. I decided I don't think I'm a big fan of any kind of hunting. I have never been actual hunting, but I don't' think I would enjoy killing animals. And this job hunting stuff, it is just too much work. And I hate talking about myself and all the questions they ask, and just gross! I want someone to just walk up and hand me a job! But, wishes don't' always come true. Sad. So far I have been unsuccessful. But, I keep my hopes up, and you will all know when I do finally find a job!

Mother's Day

So, I feel like it would be to cheesy and forced to write a blog all about how grateful I am for my mom, but because it's Mother's Day. Not that I'm not grateful and that I don't love her, but I feel like I don't' need to express it on my blog. However, I did write her a poem, so feel free to look at my site with my Writing, there is a link to it on the left side of my blog, and the poem is posted there.

The Age of Innocence

So, there is a scripture that says to become like a little child, and in the last couple days, I've been reminded of why. It is because they are so pure, so innocent, so GOOD. Down at college, I didn't' see little kids much, seeing as I lived in college dorms with mostly freshmen, go figure. In the last couple days, especially today I was reminded of how precious they are. Today in church I realized how much I missed kids in Sacrament meeting. Since it is Mother's Day, the primary children sang, and it was adorable. Plus, one of the little boys sitting a few rows in front of us kept looking back at my sister and I, and we pulled faces back and forth. The little girls sitting the row in front of us were way cute too, and kept smiling at me. Then, we had my mom's family over to my house, and my cousin came with his four kids. Two of them are twins, and are only a couple months old. And they were so precious, with such powerful little spirits. Later tonight, I got to hold my cousin Easton who is three months old.

All of this reminded me of how innocent children are. I admit, as they get older, they start losing some of that, but for the most part, kids are so clean of all the dirtiness present in this world. Today, I am so grateful that I have children in my life and I get to experience that innocence. I hope that I can help keep the children around me free from the garbage of this world, and preserve as long as possible their age of innocence.

He Won't

So, everyone knows that life is just changes. Constantly. And small changes I can handle, but I've never been one to adjust to big changes well. Especially when it connects to my emotions. Something that has always been hardest for me, is when friends change. Especially if it's in a way that weakens the friendship. It's not an easy thing for me to deal with. And with the whole growing up and becoming an adult thing, it's happened a lot, it is happening now, and I know it will happen again.

When this has been really hard for me before, I discovered a scripture in Mormon. Verse nine of chapter Nine says, "For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?" This scripture in context is talking about miracles still happen, because there were miracles before, so there have to be miracles now. But when I was having a hard time with this once, it hit me in a different way, and to the side I wrote, "Even when everyone else changes on me, God will still be there."

Today, I was dealing with a hard situation, with a friend changing. It's not been easy for me at all. Then, I read my scriptures for the night, and I was reading in Mormon 9. I read verse nine, and my little not by it. And, I felt a little better. It's still hard, and it still hurts, and I'm still crying. But I remembered my testimony, that no matter what happens, God will never change. He has always been there for , and he always will. So, today I'm grateful that I know without a doubt, that if everyone around me changes, and they all break my heart, and I lose every person I've ever been close to, I will make it through. Because God knows what I need, and when everyone changes, and I lose them as a friend. God WON't change.

Hopeless Romantic? I think so

Well, once upon the time I proudly and yet also not so proudly called myself a Hopeless Romantic. Then I went to college. And, having no luck with guys, I got depressed, and tried to suppress my Hopeless Romantic boy crazy side. I actually did quite well if you ask me. I didn't think about such things as much. Or watch as many Chick Flicks(over and over and over again) I didn't even talk about boys as much. So, I thought I was finally on my way to being cured of one of the funnest and yet depressing diseases ever.

Then....

I came home. And it all came back. Thursday night my sister rented 27 Dresses. Since then I have watched it all the way through 3 times. I have watched all the extras, and to top it all off, I have watched the ending about 6 times besides when I watched it the full way through. And these watchings were complete with pausing when cute faces were made, and the perfect "look" happened. I think about such things again, and talk about them. And obviously I am back to watching Chick Flicks multiple times and thoroughly enjoying it, all the while saying to myself, "Why do I do this, it just makes me sad because I don't have anyone!"

However, I must say that I blame it partially on James Marsden and his gorgeous smile and all around "hotness." Not to mention his singing talents. And the ability to give "weak in the knees" inspiring looks that say "I love you" because of his excellent acting abilities.

Don't worry though, I'm really not that obsessed and I understand that he is just a good looking actor. I just need to find someone who is like that in real life....

Celebrate!

So, today I FINALLY got the car for the day. But, only so I could look for jobs. However, I could NOT resist stopping by good ol' Apple Tree and seeing some of my fantastic friends from there. It was so great to see Shannon, Tammy, Mikey, and Eric and Jesse. Too bad it was only a short visit though since they were all supposed to be working. It was great though to finally get out and see some of the people I've really missed.

Missing

So, I was sitting here at my house all day, just bored because I have no way to get out of the house and do something, and I realised, there are a lot of people I miss right now. And so I got to thinking about how you say you are missing someone when they are not here, like you say an object is missing. It's kind of a strange thing. But then I realised. When you are missing an object, you can't enjoy what that brings into your lfie. And when you miss someone, they are not there, and you dont' enjoy what they bring into your life. So, it works. So, to all of you who I miss right now, family in other states, family and friends on mission, friends from college, friends who I havent seen since I got home, or even loved ones who have passes away; know that I like having you in my life. And I dislike not having you be in it on a daily basis. I MISS the happiness you add to my life, and what you add to who I am.

Reunion Time

So, usually when I talk about reunions, its family reunions, which, I absolutely LOVE. But, this time I am talking about my reunion with Kiera and Amanda after a year at college. We went shopping at the mall, and I bought some new bling(just earrings) and sunglasses and Kiera bought two ridiculously large rings. Then we went and got shakes at Arby's before coming to my house and chilling. It was so great to finally have time to relax with the girls again and be our "blonde, brunette, and redhead" threesome again. Even if Kiera could fit all three roles now. Jk, I love you Kiera!

Although I loved being with them, I wish I could see a lot more people again now that I am home. I wish I had a car so I could go visit everyone I have missed so much!

Goodbye Grandma Bott

Today my great grandma Bott passed away. Its sad and I know I will miss her lots, but it's better for her. I am also happy that she and Grandpa Bott can be back together again. It will also be easier for my Grandma now because she was doing so much to take care of her mother. Now she can finally rest. I love my family and I am so glad that we can be together for eternity. I love you Grandma!
