Flatware

Well, since I got home I've spent my time helping out at my mom's work with flatware( aka silverware that isnt' really silver) orders. I get to count to twelve over and over and put the flatware in bags. I've gotten so tired of them that I am ready to eat with my hands all the time. But, the bosses mom works there, we all call her Grandma. And she is a lot of fun to work with, so its not that bad. So, thats been my life since I got back. From 8 to 5 I spend my days with Grandma and the spoons, forks, and knifes.

The Gym

So, there is a new gym by my house and my parents got me a membership so I go most days and work out with them. Don't even worry, by the time I get back to BYU no one will even recognise me I'll be so skinny and muscled. haha. At least kind of, right? It's fun though. Tonight I think I'll do me some jump roping.

Home Again, Home Again

Well, I'm home for the summer and loving it. I miss the roomies and the setting of BYU, but it's refreshing to be home. I've been helping out at my mom's work and hopefully by the time they get less busy and don't need my help I'll have found a job for the summer. I haven't done to much partying here yet, but I did finally watch August Rush. Good show.

First Sunburn

Well, the weather was so nice out today that I decided to spend some time studying outside. I completely enjoyed myself and it felt amazing! The only problem was, I enjoyed myself for too long and my face got a little sunburned. So, at least now I have the first facial burn of the summer taken care of. Luckily its not so bad that I will look completely horrible for the last day we have church with the ward. My face just feels a little too warm for comfort and is a of a red tint.

Finals

Well, now that I'm in the middle of finals they have taken over my life. Luckily I have gotten four out the way and now I only have American Heritage and English 251 to worry about. Which are actually the two I might be the most concerned about. Wish me luck.

Opposite Hair Day

So last night we decided to straighten Kaitlin's hair, and then had a brilliant idea to make my hair curly today. So, Kaitlin and I switched hair today. We both like it, but feel like it's weird! I think it was a fun idea though and wish we would have done it a couple times before.

Surprise!

Sara's birthday is next week, so we decided to combine a surprise birthday party with Waffle Wednesday. She had no clue of what we doing and Amy was amazing to get her out of the house so we could decorate. We had waffles and then had two delicious cakes the Amy made and just had a lot of people come over. Happy Birthday next week Sara!

Last Day of Class

Well, yesterday was the last day of class! So, I bought us some Sparkling Cider for my roommates and I to party together. We even had it in Kaitlin's fun little glasses! It was really hard to get it open though.

Kitchen Sleepovers

So, my roommates and I have discovered a beautiful thing called having a sleepover in the kitchen! There is just one problem with them, we dont' get as much sleep! I think they are loads of fun though, albeit I am so tired lately my studying time is not as good as it should be.

Registering for Classes

Well, I am currently right now in the process of registering for Fall 2008 classes! It's a little stressful when you need a class that there are only a few seats left with, plus these needless question boxes keep popping up at me which makes it take longer and its confusing! GRR!!

It was going faster than last time, but now it's being all slow again. How annoying! Oh, SO SLOW!....one more class to go....

Stay tuned for the results of my registration;

SUCCESS!! I got in all the classes I wanted, AND I am taking my religion class with my cousin Nathan! How exciting! And, I was finished in twenty minutes, as opposed to last time when it took me an HOUR.

Jump On It

So, tonight my ward had a combined FHE activity at Jump On It. Usually I don't want to participate in such things, and I feel like FHE should be done on a family level, but since it was one of the last ward activities that we were going to have I decided to go, and Kaitlin agreed to have, so us two and Jill went. I am so glad I decided to go because I had tons of fun! It definitely wore me out and I was so gross and sweaty but it was so worth it. I even landed a couple of front flips, and I don't really remember ever doing that before in my whole life! So, that was pretty exciting! I was also so glad that Kaitlin and Jill were there too because I love them so much and had tons of fun with them. I just wish Sara, Danielle, and Rachel would have come too. I think I am going to be so sore tomorrow, but it was worth it. I am so excited for summer, but I am going to miss doing things like that with the roomies and I am going to miss the people in the ward a lot too.
Just don't ask me about the ride home....

Music on my Blog

I got quite jealous when I saw that my aunt and uncle had music on their blog, so, I did some experimenting and figured out how to add some to mine! I am really excited since I am basically obsessed with music. Sometimes it's annoying though, when I forget about it and I am listening to a really good song on itunes and then I sign in and all the sudden there is another song playing! But, it's worth dealing with I think because I just love having the music! YAY for music!

Gmail Account

So, I dont' know why, because I already have many e-mail accounts, but I just got a gmail account. Why not? right.

Beautiful Day

Not only is today's weather BEAUTIFUL beyond description, but classes are almost over AND my English teacher has decided that the final will be a TAKE HOME, OPEN BOOK test, and we will get a week to work on it from when he gives it to us! I was so happy to hear that. The combination of those two facts with the addition of classes almost being over makes today AMAZINGLY wonderful.

Potato FEAST

So, today Rach was in charge of dinner, but she forgot until this morning. But, we ended up having an AMAZING meal when we remember the FHE boys had some huge potatoes left over from last night. So, Rachel, Kaitlin, Sara and I all pitched in what we had for a baked potato bar and had the most delicious meal ever. I was so sad that I had to leave to work because we were having so much fun spending our Sunday together!

Rachel and I with Helium

Pleasant Surprises

So, today I had three pleasant surprises;

1: I got to see Heidi in the MTC. I was so sad because I didnt' see her Thursday, and today was almost over and I still had not seen her. I saw Warren and told him I still hadn't see her, and then a couple minutes later, he walked back over to my line with Heidi, to show her where I was! I was sooo happy and I gave her a huge hug! I can't believe that she is actually a missionary! So, although I was so tired from last night, I am gald I had work today.

2: It was warm enough to wear shorts! YAY!

3: We had our ward closing social barbecue thing tonight, and that was lots of fun. It wasn't a surprise, but the surprise was the balloons that we got from it! Some how my roommates and I ended up with the majority of them. So, Sara got some, I got some, and Jill ended up with tons! So of course Rachel and I just had to make use of some of the Helium. It was fun, even if I got a headache from ONE balloon.

Music Exchange Night

Well, last night Sara, Kaitlin, and I finished our music exchange, and Amanda came over for a bit. Now I have oh so many songs on my itunes. Which makes me extra happy! We also had a "sleepover." Kaitlin slept on the couch and Sara and I pulled our matresses into the kitchen. I was up till 3:30! Much too late! But it was lots of fun, and the Grasshopper Pie/Cheesecake was quite delicious, even if it wouldnt' set up as fast as it should have!

Roommate Date

Well, today we had our roomate date! First of all, Rachel couldn't come, which was so sad! However, we still had lots of fun. Although we didnt' have time to go to the movie like we planned, lunch at Mimi's Cafe was delicious and oh so much fun! We devoured three baskets of bread!

On the way home we listened to music turned up loud with the windows down and took lots of fun pictures with our hair blowing around. Then we came back and had Ben take some quick pictures for us. It was lots of fun and a great way to start the end of the semester.

Major and Cheesecake

Well, today I declared myself and English major. It's a great feeling to have actually declared and have something to work toward in my life. I decided a long time ago, but just hadn't declared. That was sure silly of me. I was nervous, how ridiculous.
For the major, i had to take a Spanish placement class. I realised that I don't remember much of anything from highschool. How sad.

I am quite excited for tonight, because am making Grasshopper Pie for our music exchange night! Or in other words, mint cheesecake. It is delicious! I am excited to make it.

My sister is engaged!

So, last night my sister got engaged! Even though I knew it was going to happen soon it is still so wierd to think about! However, I am so excited for her, and for Matt. Not to mention it will be fun to have a brother-in-law, and to have them live in Provo!

Plus, I get to be the Maid of Honor! WOOHOO! Not that I even know what that entails with a temple marriage, but hey, I get to have the title. And, I get to have a new skirt and shirt that matches it, so what is not to be excited about? Pretty much nothing, even if it is a big change.

Home Videos

I love watching home videos! Last night while I was home I decided I wanted to watch some, and eventually the whole family joined me down in the family room. I've watched all our home movies multiple times, but I love catching new things I did that were cute or silly. We watched the first one we have, and I was only a year and a half old, and boy was I a cute little girl!

I also gained some new knowledge about myself that I never knew! I wasn't talking much in the videos, and my dad said its because I took a long time to start talking because Sarah and David did all my talking for me! So, if you think I talk a lot now, I'm just making up for lost time. It was also lots of fun to watch and remember that the three of us kids all used to get along extremely well and have lots of fun together. Sometimes it is hard to rememeber that now that things have changed a little.

Home for Conference

Well, I am home for the third weekend in a row...interesting. However, I love having reasons to be home. After a warm ride in crowded car with 5 college students (four of us taking notes) we finally made it to Grandma and Grandpa's in Kaysville, and Grandma dropped me off at home on her way to the mall.

I am on the family computer, and it feels so wierd to not be using my laptop. However, it's worth it to be home.

It was interesting to take part in the solemn assembly today as we sustained a new prophey, President Thomas S. Monson. The spirit was certainly strong and I am glad I got to participate. It's interesting to see the small things that witness of the true nature of the church.

I'm excited to spend some time with the girls in the family tonight, and especially to see Liesel since I haven't since Christmas!

Writing

So, I really love to do creative writing in my free time and once took a creative writing class. I haven't written anything recently, but I thought I would share some of my older pieces on here. This is one of my favorite poems that I wrote for my class.

One Luminous Dream

In the tranquil dawn the overcast,
yet cerulean blue
sky hides the happily shining
sun. Expectant dreams skip
across the mind, as curious eyes gaze out the radiant window. The scars
on the fragile hands, proof of the controlled-chaos
that exists inside the lovely
soul that sings the forgotten song. The rain
a beautiful surprise to the living
embodiment of chaotic perfection who has one desire.
To leave a mark, before falling like the autumn leaves.

First Entry

Well, I figured that I better get around to using this blog that Kaitlin was so wonderful as to set up for me. Plus, Rachel was about ready to beat me up if I didn't.

Rachel and I have just torn off the first links of our leaving chain. Slightly depressing, but the dancing to Spring made it all better. Now I'm about to go eat corn dogs for lunch.
